Mr Dugald Bell - MB BS FRCOphth
Mr Bell qualified in Medicine from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1988. He completed ophthalmology training at:
- Sunderland Eye Infirmary
- Newcastle General Hospital
- Princess Alexandra Pavilion, Edinburgh
In 1997, Mr Bell spent one year as Fellow in Corneal and Refractive Surgery at the Corneo-Plastic Unit of the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead. In July 1999 he was appointed Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Sunderland Eye Infirmary.
His specialist interests are:
- Refractive surgery
- Corneal & external eye diseases
- Cataract surgery
Mr Bell has contributed several papers to peer-reviewed journals in Ophthalmology.
He is a member of the British Society for Refractive Surgery, European and American, UK and Ireland Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
