Mr Stephen Morgan - MD DO FRCS FRCOphth
Mr Morgan became Consultant Ophthalmologist, City Hospitals Sunderland & North Durham Hospitals NHS Trust in 1990.
He trained in Medicine at St. John's College, Cambridge gaining a B.A. 1st Class Hons. in Pathology and at St. Thomas's Hospital, London (Mead Medal winner in Medicine).
Ophthalmology training posts in Norwich, Croydon, London, Newcastle (Registrar) and Southampton (Senior Registrar). Honorary Registrar post at Moorfields for 3 months.
Mr Morgan has contributed papers on:
- allergic eye disease
- chemical burns
- limbal transplantation
His special and current 'research' interests include:
- anterior segment disease
- corneal transplantation
- lacrimal drainage surgery
Mr Morgan performs therapeutic excimer laser, including the treatment of iatrogenic refractive errors and corneal dystrophies and degenerations.
